Weather is pivotal in many decisions, especially regarding property and life safety. Our founder, Robert Wright, recognized the challenge of obtaining precise weather data for specific locations and times - a challenge that often impacted legal decisions, insurance claims, and property management. Thus, with the help and guidance of a meteorological firm, LRC Services, WeatherStrike was born, combining technological innovation with meteorological expertise.
Robert L. Wright has been practicing Structural Engineering for over 43 years and Forensic Engineering for over 29 years.
As a Structural Engineer, Robert has worked on a multitude of large commercial and military projects in Georgia and Texas with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Walter P. Moore & Associates.
In 1993, Robert established Robert L. Wright & Associates – a firm specializing in Structural and Forensic Engineering. As a Forensic Engineer, he conducts investigations and writes causation reports for building damage due to high thunderstorm winds, hail, tornadoes, hurricanes, fire, ice storms, and structural defects.
He has co-authored four published papers on the Terminal Velocity of Hail with Andy Heymsfield, PhD, of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). He also served on the steering committee of the First and Second North American Hail Conferences at NCAR in Boulder, Colorado.
Robert grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and currently resides in Houston, Texas. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
